Buckleys

Buckleys

Our clients favourite finishing drinks venue is right on the waterfront in East Circular Quay, whilst the menu is basic, booking is simple and they take excellent care of our groups.  Best for the Rocks Course to avoid any doubling back or excessive walking.

(Busy during the Vivid Festival)

Right in the heart of ECQ on the water, there are both indoor and outdoor areas.  Book via the website and let them know you are completing an Amazing Race with Team Bonding.

Phone: (02) 9247 8299 (ask for Leonne)

The Orient Atrium

The Orient

Located in the lower Rocks, a 9 minute walk from the final checkpoint. The recently renovated Orient is down to earth and budget friendly, with 2 spacious areas that suit our groups.  It is also perfect as a back up for our indoor stand by event in case of rain, so if you are concerned about what your team would do if it rained, choose The Orient.

Ideal for groups from 30 – 90 people, with attractive prices.

Phone: (02) 9251 1255 – talk to Nicky (who is excellent).

Eastbank Cafe Bar Pizzeria

Suitable for groups from 20 – 60, and located in East Circular Quay (close to final checkpoint) right beside Buckleys, Eastbank has more of a bistro feel.  It has good food choices and lunch deals with tables on the waterfront.    It also has a superb private room for up to 40 people (seated) called the Wine Room, so this could be used for a meeting before a Race or for a team dinner (request specifically).

the argyle

The Argyle / El Camora Cantina

Located in the Rocks, a 10+ minute walk from the final checkpoint.

El Camora Cantina is a lively Tex Mex venue, it is good for Races which finish between 3.30 and 4.30 when it is less busy (gets too hectic there after 5pm).

The Argyle is a busy, premium venue with several suitable spaces including the Belvedere Bar and the courtyard. Ask to book a quiet corner and book for more people than you actually have so you aren’t cramped.

Other venues to try include the Paragon (very open and lively) or the Observer in the Rocks.  For small groups the Russell Hotel can be good as it is an intimate venue, as is the Fortune of War (max 25 people).   The Quay Bar is good, but only if they will give you a free booking, otherwise decline.

Please note, other clients have been let down by the Glenmore Hotel, the Lord Nelson, Cruise Bar, and the Opera Bar so we reserve the right to dissuade you from those!  Also, the Harbourview and the Charming Squire add a significant extra trek onto the end of the race which can be really tiring for some people.
