Sydney team building starts here, with 9 brilliant Amazing Race courses
THE BOTANIC GARDENS AND CIRCULAR QUAY
Our flagship Amazing Race starts in Sydney’s beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens. After lingering in the sanctuary of the Gardens we head around the Opera House to East Circular Quay, soak up the buzz and scenery there and finish in a Circular Quay pub. This virtually flat course is pleasant and enjoyable for all teams. Particularly perfect for teams with people entertaining colleagues from overseas or interstate, this shows off the very best of spectacular Sydney.
THE ROCKS AND CIRCULAR QUAY
Sydney team building at it’s best, the Rocks Course is a great favourite which engages every team. Starting near Wynyard in Lang Park. We head up Kent St to enjoy the panorama from the first checkpoint at Observatory Hill (there is one set of stairs on the way). From there you’ll be given a challenge that winds its way through the historic Rocks and pops you out near the Overseas Passenger Terminal. The second half of the event is spent soaking in the huge buzz of Circular Quay. This course combines history and interest with great energy and atmosphere, you can’t go wrong choosing the Rocks.
DARLING HARBOUR & PYRMONT
The Pyrmont / Darling Harbour course includes Pyrmont Park, the Darling Harbour foreshore, Union Square and charm of old Pyrmont. With a convenient start point in the waterfront park outside the casino, and a huge selection of excellent finish venues this course combines the energy of Darling Harbour with the historic character and interest of Pyrmont – truly something for everyone.
KIRRIBILLI, MILSON’S POINT, NORTH SYDNEY
A short walk from the North Sydney CBD, this lovely route starts in Clark Park, includes the magical serenity of Wendy Whiteley’s Garden, with a great walk past Luna Park and around the foreshore. From here we wind back through the charming Kirribilli village and into Milson’s Point, often finishing at the superb Kirribilli Club. Super popular with those North of the harbour, this Amazing Race features gorgeous settings and spectacular views of the city and Harbour Bridge from the north side.
Manly is magic, and this is a course that gets incredible feedback. We start just north of Manly Wharf, kicking off with a beach related first task on the harbour side. From there we head to Manly Oval and then across to the ocean beachfront. This event is wonderful for a complete change of pace, you can easily come over from the city on the ferry for a leisurely “lead up” and Manly has great places to finish. The final challenges are on Manly Corso with the finish at any of Manly’s fantastic venues
For folks in the East, we have a spectacular course at the gorgeous Coogee Beach. Ideal for teams in conference at Crowne Plaza Coogee and anyone located east or south of Sydney. Coogee is easy to get to, with plentiful parking and great places for the finishing presentation (Drinks at The Pavilion anyone?) There are no bad angles in Coogee, so we focus on the beach and the foreshore walk between 2 superb headland parks. No team completing the Coogee course can forget it, it is simply superb.
The course with the shortest walking distance is also one of the prettiest. Enjoy the best of Parramatta with this course that combines charm, character and the natural beauty of Parramatta Park. The course starts in Parramatta Park and includes Old Government House and Rumsey Rose Garden. We leave Parramatta via the historic Tudor Gate and head through the CBD to Church Street Mall. For a great finishing pub we generally recommend the Commercial Hotel, Woolpack Hotel or the Collector.
COCKLE BAY AND DARLING HARBOUR
The Cockle Bay Amazing Race is a brilliant event in a spectacular part of town. It is the flattest of all routes, so people of even below average fitness can complete it with ease (as can wheelchair users). Starting near the Imax, it is the simplest course to navigate, as it doesn’t involve any streets or have potential for wrong turns. Featuring the revamped Cockle Bay, the Chinese Gardens, Darling Harbour and Pyrmont Bridge and has something for everyone to enjoy.
HYDE PARK BOTANIC GARDENS
This fantastic course is generally chosen by teams located on the south east side of the city and it’s a truly scenic course. Slightly longer in walking distance than Botanic & CQ, it is virtually flat, so pleasant and enjoyable for all teams. An ideal team building activity for teams in conference at the Hilton Sydney or Sheraton on the Park. We start in in Hyde Park and complete a fascinating historic walk along Macquarie Street before entering the Botanic Gardens and completing 3 checkpoints in the gorgeous surrounds. This is a circular course that returns you back to the Hyde Park precinct. (We can also start in Hyde Park and finish in Circular Quay)
